"Comparing Cultures" - an engaging international blog
"The fish did not discover water," goes a timeless Chinese proverb. Similarly no one discovers new cultures or fully understands his or her own by staying at home. It is going to take information (giving out), communication (getting through), and we believe, the TALO Leadership Theory, to build cultural bridges.
The following are just a few topics, but there are many others (big and small) that will keep discussions engaging:
Cultural solidarity
Stereotyping of other ethnicities
Where on earth is there no racism?
The role of diversity in organizations
Interracial/cross-cultural romances
How is the United States viewed worldwide?
Thoughts on "cultural" holidays such as Hanukkah and Kwanzaa
Is there really a first world? A second world? A third world?
Is Ethnic Studies the same as ALANA Studies?
Are women executives victims of the glass ceiling or sticky floor?
Cultural Studies and the massive media
Should a country have an official language?
Are there three races or one?
Gender studies as a part of "comparing cultures"
Do wars really bring about peace?
Let's talk about Africa, the cradle and future of civilization
Conflicts and commonalities between Asian ethnicities
Conflicts and commonalities between Hispanics
Do public schools in America discriminate or empower?
Conflicts and commonalities between European nations
* Guest editorials are always welcome
