The Intel speech competition was this past Monday. All competitors had to write a new speech talking about our own vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s promised land and if technology had a part to play in it. When I got the prompt I did not know how I was going to write my speech. Last year I was able to write a speech, a God-inspired speech, which was tied to MLK's I had a dream speech titled I had a nightmare. This speech was a hit. It even made it to YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF_yyA3g_sg&feature=g-all-u&context=G2fedbbfFAAAAAAAACAA). But this year I was not able to write my speech until the last minute. Then I stayed up on Sunday night trying to memorize my new speech. On the day of competition I did my very best, but this time it was not good enough to get first place, but rather second place. Although I was slightly upset I was truly happy for the young lady who got first place in oratory. Now that, that competition is over it is time to perfect the new speech and get ready to perform it for the ACT-SO competition... now all I need is an NAACP chapter that has an active ACT-SO program! Anyone know of any? Well TTFN Ta Ta For Now.

It is finally hitting me, I am almost a high school graduate and then a college freshman. I feel like there is still a lot of things I need to know before I make this drastic change. But I guess it could be seen through this analogy- to learn how to swim you can either put one toe in at a time or go in with a cannon ball! So I guess it will be the latter for me. Well I know that was short everyone, but this senior had a lot of homework to get done with :) TTFN TA TA For Now

Mondays, always the hardest day of the week, even though this is so, I am blessed to have this day. Woke up and today it was rainy, cold, and gray. Although the outside was gray the inside of me was sunshine. I was ready to get the day started. Class went well, took tests, participated in class discussions, and did in class worksheets. At the end of the day I was on a quest to find a NAACP chapter who was participating in the ACT-SO, Afro- Academic Cultural Technological Scientific Olympiad , program. But so far no such luck. Well it is time to read my book for English class. May you all be blessed! TTFN TA TA For Now!

This year I am doing oratory and dramatic interpretation once again. I hope tomorrow will go well but only The Savior knows what will happen tomorrow. So everyone please keep your figures crossed and please pray for me and all of use competing in ACT-SO in North Cal, South Cal and all over the nation. Thanks everyone for your support and I will let you all know how it went tomorrow!
